Over time, excessive pilling can cause cashmere jumpers to be difficult to repair, and can lead to more serious problems with unravelling. There are several ways in which you can limit the risk of pilling, from checking materials through to correctly washing and storing items. At the same time, it’s possible to remove pills from cashmere jumpers without causing any lasting damage. Basic Checks First, check cashmere materials for their quality. More tightly wound cashmere wool jumpers tend to be tougher and less prone to problems. The quality of the woolen weave can affect its susceptibility to rubbing and damage.
